Famous Wolf

I've finally settled a bit in my new home, so I could take a bit more time on this week's challenge. I decided pretty quickly my subject would be dice, but which dice was more difficult. I have quite a collection. I like these dice best though. I got them through a Kickstarter campaign. They are hand cast, solid metal dice. They have a few imperfections, but that just gives them more character.

After missing the deadline in week 6, I was extra determined to get this one in on time. Unfortunately I was still busy moving and decorating my new home and didn't have a lot of time. I had several ideas and decided to keep it simple. Two halves of a bell pepper propped up with toothpicks. I edited out the toothpicks to make the top half levitate. You can see the edit was a rush job. I could probably do better if I had more time, but I still like the results.

For the "new" challenge I wanted to do a photo walk through my new town, as I was moving there the next week. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad, so I didn't take as many photos as I wanted to. I did take a few nice ones though.

I had a lot of trouble with this challenge. I saw a lot of other framers saying they saw leading lines everywhere, but I didn't see any. I knew they were there, I just didn't see them. So as a last resort I went to the Afsluitdijk, which is basicly one big leading line, and took photos of the moving traffic from an overpass.

Today I took a bit of a detour getting home from work. I went to Esonstad, a small holiday resort to the north of here, which has a recreated semi-historic town center. During this time of year it's mostly deserted, so ideal for some urban photograph after dark. My tripod broke last night, so I had to shoot by hand with high ISO and a lot of the photos were a bit too blurry and/or grainy, but some came out pretty good.
